General Information:

There must be eight or more students in a class for it to run.  Classes that do not meet the minimum requirements will be combined at the discretion of RSDA, or charged at a semi-private or private rate.  No student will be admitted to class with an unpaid balance.

Classes commence in September and run for the term until Recital in May or June.  Fees are based on an average of four classes per month which includes a Christmas holiday and Spring Break.  No refunds after November 30th.  For any individual taking 5 hours of lessons per week, all additional classes are free.  This does not include solos, duos, trios or small groups.  Those are at an additional cost.

Post dated cheques serve as payment for the term (3 post dated cheques or pre-authorized Visa/MasterCards dated for September 15th, December 1st and March 1st), and are to be left at the time of registration.  Those qualifying for monthly payments must submit cheques for the 15th of September and subsequent cheques are to be dated for the 1st of each month and are to be left at the time of registration.

To change a payment method to cash, notification must be a minimum of 4 business days before the payment due date.  There will be a $10.00/month late fee for payments made past their due dates.  Payments will not be refunded for withdrawals within the month (see Withdrawals below).

Family Rate:

When the combined hours of 2 or more students in one family exceed 3 ¾ hours per week, a family rate may apply.  Come in and see us for information on family rates.  All team participants are on an individual rate only.  Please come and see us for details on family rates).

Withdrawals:

Notification for withdrawal must be done in writing and submitted to RSDA in order for a refund to be processed.  The date of written notification (not the date of absence) is considered the departure date.  No refunds after November 30.  Clients are responsible for all outstanding monetary balances. (i.e. costume orders, tuition, competition fees, etc.)  No student will be admitted into class with any unpaid balance.  Once a student is registered, withdrawals are subject to a $30.00 administration fee.

N.S.F. Cheques:

A $25.00 charge will be applied to any N.S.F. cheques.  Accounts with outstanding NSF payments will be notified by RSDA by phone or mail.  Payment will be expected within 10 business days of notification.  If payment is not made within 2 weeks, there is a 3% charge per day on the total outstanding bill.

Costume Fees & Deposits:

A deposit of $40.00 + GST per student, per dance, posted-dated for October 14 is required at the time of registration.  This fee is subtracted from the final purchase total of the costume and is non-refundable.  A late fee of $10.00 plus GST/month is charged on all deposits made after October 14.  All cheques must be made payable to Rising Star Dance Academy.  All outstanding fees (including tuition and any late fees) must be paid before costumes are released.  The costumes will be worn on stage at recital and are yours to keep once paid for in full.

For all Creative Movement and Pre-Dance students, NO costumes will be ordered until the recital permission slip is signed and returned to RSDA.
